That’s important because sadly teeth, unlike other parts of the body, don’t grow back they’re once damaged. But helping your child keep their teeth for life is remarkably simple: it’s down to keeping them happy about seeing a dentist regularly who will spot emerging issues before they cause permanent damage.
There’s no reason why they’ll ever have to fork out for crowns, bridges or dental-implants as an adult if they form good habits early on in life. .
We advise everyone to brush for at least two minutes twice daily, floss at night, and get a dental check-up at least once a year, and we recommend having ahygiene appointment (in which your teeth and gums are professionally cleaned) every six months or more.
Unfortunately, whether it’s down to a sports collision or some other unpleasant mishap, sometimes teeth do need to be removed in the interests of keeping the rest of your mouth healthy. Definitely not the drilling, pain and dread that I grow up with. I recently had veneer treatment and now would not go back to my previous dentist as the wave experience is so much nicer.
