Nikki has a fine eye for detail which is something she put to good use as a beauty therapist running her own business. Over the years she began to notice a surprising trend. More and more of her customers were visiting a dentist as regularly as they were booking appointments for their nails, skin or hair.
The mystery was solved when Nikki joined WeLoveTeeth and discovered a very different experience from the dentist she had been used too.
“People walked into WeLoveTeeth with teeth they had been unhappy with for years but left with a lovely smile and full of confidence”.
It wasn’t long before Nikki decided that she should take the plunge herself.
“I was extremely unhappy with my teeth but didn’t realise that something could be done about them. To me they looked small and gappy. Flicking through family photos I noticed how often I smiled with my lips closed.
I thought dental veneers might be an option but couldn’t justify the cost and worried about potential damage to my natural teeth”.
She discussed her fears with Dr Paula Brennan and her associate Dr Asif Hamid. Together they put together a treatment plan to build up her existing teeth using a composite material. Each tooth was then meticulously sculpted by hand.
Nikki could not wait to start her treatment. “I was so excited at my first appointment. It felt like I was literally choosing how my teeth would be transformed. The process was very simple too. I had what was called a ‘wax-up’ first to check that everything would look good. Then I relaxed in a dental chair for a couple of hours as my new teeth were built up around the existing ones. The whole process was painless and they don’t require any special care compared to the old ones.”
Not only have Nikki’s teeth transformed her looks they also led to a new career.
“I was so fascinated by the work that they were doing at WeLoveTeeth that I decided to train as a dental nurse!”
Nikki qualified in March 2016 and is now a member of our clinical team.
“I suppose it was only a matter of time before my attention turned to friends and family. With my husband John first on the list. He has very healthy robust teeth without a single filling, however his teeth were discoloured.”
Nikki doesn’t mind admitting that she nagged her husband about it until he booked an appointment for teeth whitening.
