“Every three minutes a child is born with a cleft lip or palate. Cleft is the most common craniofacial abnormality (problems of the skull and face) which babies can be born with.”

Snoring may be a symptom of sleep apnea. And that is a severe condition requiring immediate treatment.

The good news is that our dentists are able to help determine whether you could be suffering from sleep apnea and offer simple solutions that prevent both the clinical and social problems associated with snoring.

The American Association of Orthodontics recommends all children receive an orthodontic screening by the age of 7. That’s for a very good reason as permanent teeth begin to come in at around 6 or 7 years old.

As the bones in these children are still growing it is an ideal time to evaluate whether orthodontic treatment may be required then or in the future. Even before permanent teeth are visible it is possible to help avoid overcrowding using a palatal expander. Many parents (and their children) prefer this option to removing teeth.
